On Feb 4th, Bordeaux's Mayor Alain Juppe hosted a high-profile all day cycling workshop aimed at exploring the future of urban cycling in the wake of Bordeaux's recent launch of their city-wide cycle hire scheme.

World-renowned cycle-loving designers, celebrities and athletes Philippe Starck, Paul Belmondo and Barbara Buatois (world record holder for 200m run) graced the Athenee Municipale with their presence.

Philippe Starck was his usual flamboyant self, arriving a fashionable 30 mins late and proceeded to condemn the petrol-heads of our world by alluding to the car as a 'penis extension'.

Before making a sharp exit, the charismatic and often controversial designer showed his approval of Michaud's 'beautiful panniers'!
